Roselle Rams was organized in February 2007 by Samantha Dow and Arethea
Oglesby, both residents of Roselle New Jersey. As concerned residents the need arose for a Youth Track Club. The organization’s membership consists of athletes, track team parents/guardians, and coaches. The Roselle RAMS Track Program is supported by a volunteer Parent Association that is vital to its success. New President and Board were established in March 2011. The purpose is to promote participation in the sport of track and field through the organization, operation, and maintenance of a track and field program based in the town of Roselle. To promote and instill trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship at all times and fellowship among all players, coaches and parents. To educate the youth, parents and the general public with respect to the sport of track and field and the value of the sport to them. Track and Field is one of the oldest sports in the world. Organized Track & Field in the United States has been in place since the 1800’s. Roselle RAMS Track Program is a track club for male and female athletes in ages 6 - 15. Our athletes will train three days each week, and compete in local, regional, and national track and field competitions. Our track and field program will participate under the USA Track & Field New Jersey Striders Track Club and AAU Track and Field. The program consists of two distinct seasons: Indoor, from November through March; and Outdoor, from late March through June for most athletes. Athletes who meet specific qualifications for post Outdoor season competitive meets may continue through August. Every athlete will receive a ribbon for each event that he or she participates in. |
